Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Grease — the portal at app.grease.ng, the Grease mobile app, and any related services we provide (the "Service"). By creating a workshop account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. If you are signing up on behalf of a company or workshop, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure. We will never ask you for it.
• You are responsible for the actions of every staff member you invite to your workshop.
• Notify us immediately at hello@grease.ng if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Free trial

Every new workshop gets a 14-day free trial with Pro features unlocked. We do not require a card to start the trial. At the end of the trial you may pick a plan; if you do nothing, your account is paused — your data is preserved for 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

• Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance, in your chosen currency.
• Prices are listed at grease.ng/#pricing and may change with at least 30 days' notice.
• Annual plans receive a 15% discount and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• You may cancel any time from the portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• If a payment fails, we will retry for up to 7 days; after that the workshop is automatically suspended until the balance is settled.

5. Hosting plan

Some customers buy a hosting plan on negotiated terms — billed off-platform on a schedule agreed in writing. For those customers the hosting agreement signed at purchase governs; these Terms apply only to the extent not contradicted by that agreement.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harassing purposes.
• Send WhatsApp messages, SMS, or emails through the Service to recipients who have not consented to receive them, or in violation of any anti-spam law.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits.
• Resell or sublicense the Service to third parties without our written agreement.
• Probe, scan, or stress-test the Service's vulnerability without prior written authorisation.
• Upload content that contains malware, infringes copyright, or violates the privacy of any person.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

7. Your data is yours

You own the records you create in your workshop — customer details, vehicles, jobs, invoices, photos. Grease is the processor; the workshop is the controller. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

You may export your data from the portal in JSON or CSV at any time. On termination we provide one final export free of charge within 30 days.

8. Service availability

We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance and force-majeure events. The Service is provided "as is" — we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Where the Service is unavailable for more than four hours in a calendar month due to our fault, you may request a pro-rata service credit.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers (listed in the Privacy Policy). Outages on those providers may affect the Service. We are not liable for the actions or downtime of third parties beyond using commercially reasonable efforts to recover.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Grease against any claim by a third party arising from (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, (b) content you upload, or (c) your violation of any law.

12. Termination

• You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account from the portal.
• We may terminate immediately if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that risks others.
• On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Data is retained for 30 days for export, then deleted.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos State, Nigeria, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are announced at least 14 days before they take effect via email and an in-app banner. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
